Latitude Review: Circa Waves

Liverpool quartet and hotly tipped band Circa Waves released an energetic indie-pop feel with the similarities of The Strokes and The Libertines.

Their clever lyrics were wrapped around loud distorted guitar riffs, hard-hitting drum solos and lively vocals – reliving the sound from the early noughties indie scene.

Their melodic yet propulsive rock sound was well-received by the audience, with an energetic buzz from the young crowd. Jumping fans took the centre and reserved members did a jig or nodded their head to the punchy beat.

Circa Waves went from unknowns to radio stars in just six months, with their single ‘Stuck in my Teeth’ becoming Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe’s hottest record in the world in February of this year.

The band introduced a new single ‘So Long’ along with ‘Young Chasers’ and ‘Good For me’. They are still a relatively new and upcoming band, continuing with their success and gradual debut album.
